The small widget is just the photo, cropped to a square and sitting right in the grid with your other icons — a new random photo from across all your libraries, chosen once a day, no arrows, no overlay.
The medium widget widens out and adds a previous and next arrow right over the photo. Tap either one and you don't get another random pick — you step to the photo taken just before or after it, so you can browse the moments surrounding the day's selection without unlocking your device or opening the app.
The large widget gives the photo real space to breathe, with the same next and previous browsing as medium plus the date and place overlaid at the bottom, when available. A glance tells you not just what you're looking at, but when and where, as you step through the photos around it.
By default, the photo is picked at random from across all the libraries Raza Photos knows about, and swapped out for a new one once a day. Got two Macs feeding the same library? Both are in the pool.
Each widget can be configured with its own filters — albums, events, dates, places, and people, selected the same way you'd filter the sidebar in Raza Photos. Combine multiple filters, and multiple selections within each one, to keep a widget focused on just the vacation album, just last summer, or just the kids.
Once a filter is set, the daily random pick comes from that filtered set instead of your whole library — filter down to just you or your family, for instance, and you get a new random photo of them every day. Next and previous still step through the photos around that selection, honoring the same filter, so you stay within the people, place, or dates you chose.
On iPhone and iPad, touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, tap the + button, and search for Raza Photos. On Mac, right-click the desktop, choose Edit Widgets, and search the same way. All three sizes work identically across Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
