The grid loads thumbnails the moment you open the app — no sync, no waiting for the cloud. Scroll through years of memories as fast as your finger moves. Filter by date, location, or event with a tap — every active filter shows as a chip, so you always know what you're looking at.
Switch from grid to map and your photos appear as pins on an Apple Maps canvas. Tap a cluster to zoom in — keep tapping and the map zooms until the pins separate. When you've narrowed it down far enough, tap the cluster one more time to see just those photos in the grid.
Open any photo into a full-screen viewer. The location is shown subtly in the corner — always present, never in the way. HDR and Live Photos are rendered natively, exactly as they appear in Photos.app. Open a video and an AirPlay button sends it straight to the TV.
Select a photo, or up to 50 at a time, and send them with the standard share sheet on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. WhatsApp, Messages, Mail, and any other app that appears in the share sheet are ready to receive them.
It sends the original photo, the same file that sits in your folder, so anything stored in it, including its location, goes with it. Check before you send if that matters to you.
Sending is always your choice. The app doesn't send anything on its own: the share sheet hands the file to whichever app you pick. It's also separate from library sharing, which only makes your library available to your own devices at home. How library sharing works →
